I haven’t touched a NLE video editor in years. (other than perhaps trimming some video files and whatnot)
Recently I felt like getting back into relearning the very basics. (which I never actually progressed beyond)
So I grabbed a cheap copy of Magix VEGAS Movie Studio Platinum (VEGAS Pro’s little brother) and a free copy of HitFilm Express (I thought Vegas exporting was slow…HitFilm taught me I was completely wrong)
hint: Vegas MS Platinum is sometimes on sale on Steam and Ebay has a couple legit sellers with amazing prices for “last year’s” version or older. (randomly ran across version 13 for like 12€, now 19€, 100% positive feedback; version 16 is around 40€, for a basic yet decent video editing program those are amazing prices)
Now all I needed was a reason to play around with editing something.
And the perfect opportunity arose…
I was browsing one of the forums I browse daily and came across a video clip that made me go “This looks just like the zombie movies.”
And the idea was born.
With the combined powers of Resident Evil 3’s “September 28th, Daylight”, some random clip of people waiting for…something, I think it was flu shots and chroma keying…I give to you:
Basic 3 minute job, yet effective.
It’s a better and more fun way to relearn the basics than playing around making intros and outros for my non-existent YouTube Channel.
Note to self, Chroma Keying on black isn’t a great idea, but kinda works when it’s just a black background with some white text over it.
And that is the end of the post.
