Game2: winter
Many will remember at the beggining of the year there was sudden worldwide histeria about a Russian survival TV show called “Game2: winter”.
It was portrayed as a show where contestants could kill, rape and maim (and do many others mischevious things like hiding eachothers socks, I guess)
Obviously, as someone who likes survival shows, my curiousity was piqued.

Part 5, will it be the final one?
I wonder.
I’m afraid I’m starting to enjoy LARPing as a 1980s nerd.
The lack of the dumbening warmth of flashing images (or at least a severe reduction of them) clears your mind.
I had already dropped TV some 10 years ago, but then jumped into the dumbening warmth of the computer. (in part that’s what weaned me off the tv)
And now without the computer (let’s be honest, without moving pictures the computer is boring as all hell)
But yeah, under penalty of sounding like a soft cunt, it’s actually been good mentally.

Retro style, part 4 – Still on books
The last one should have been short, it wasn’t.
As if I wasn’t verbose enough already, listening to all of these books is making me even worse.
I need to go back to the dumbening warmth of flashing images, I’m starting to think that for society to move to a healthy paradigm we need to get rid of the nice flashing images as they atrophy your brain.
Hell, I need to return to the flashing pictures quickly or next I’ll start calling Ted Kaczynski “Uncle Ted”. (perhaps I already do in secret)
Let me break this talk before I actually start talking seriously about my feelings on the cute flashing images.

I am a hero (manga, 2009-2017)

8 years, 22 volumes, 264 chapters.
One of the best zombie works of fiction of the last 10 years. (I’d say the best, but there’s lots of people who love that soap opera…what’s it’s name? Walking dead? Something like that.)
Finally the big blobs of ZQNs had conveyed somewhere.
“This is it! It’s going to be epic! What brought the ZQNs there? Why did all this happen? What will Hideo do?”
Zettai Zetsumei Toshi
So, a couple of years ago, in a post about survival games I mentioned Raw Danger (Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 2, henceforth ZZT2)
It is one of my favourite survival games, ever!
Perhaps not the most realistic one (has it’s moments), but it has something your average modern survival game doesn’t have: familiarity (and in great degree possibility; the scenario in the game is not overly far-fetched).

So last post (Software nostalgia; towards the end), I talked about Freebar that is written in VB6 (which is long dead), VB6 not installing on Windows 7 so I couldn’t open the Freebar project and the free alternative to VB6 being dead, so I couldn’t try to remake Freebar using the old code base.
