I am a hero (manga, 2009-2017)
- 8 years.
8 years, 22 volumes, 264 chapters.
One of the best zombie works of fiction of the last 10 years. (I’d say the best, but there’s lots of people who love that soap opera…what’s it’s name? Walking dead? Something like that.)
Finally the big blobs of ZQNs had conveyed somewhere.
“This is it! It’s going to be epic! What brought the ZQNs there? Why did all this happen? What will Hideo do?”
Zettai Zetsumei Toshi
So, a couple of years ago, in a post about survival games I mentioned Raw Danger (Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 2, henceforth ZZT2)
It is one of my favourite survival games, ever!
Perhaps not the most realistic one (has it’s moments), but it has something your average modern survival game doesn’t have: familiarity (and in great degree possibility; the scenario in the game is not overly far-fetched).

I am a hero (2015)
I’ve ranted about the manga (final rant about it will come as soon as it ends, almost there), now I’ll rant about the film.
As usual my rant is just a bunch of disjointed points and opinions.
My youtube guilty pleasures, part 2
This was actually what I originally was going to write about in the youtube guilty pleasures post, before I veered into a different direction and decided to split it into a two parts post.
This post will be considerably shorter than the part 1.

My youtube guilty pleasures, part 1
As the title says.
We all have guilty pleasures, in this post I’ll reveal a couple of my youtube guilty pleasures.
Not that anyone cares, but part of the fun is to share, who knows if someone will end up liking the same stuff.
And I felt like writing a bit. (as the tags indicate)

Would ya look at that?
So last post (Software nostalgia; towards the end), I talked about Freebar that is written in VB6 (which is long dead), VB6 not installing on Windows 7 so I couldn’t open the Freebar project and the free alternative to VB6 being dead, so I couldn’t try to remake Freebar using the old code base.

Software nostalgia
First:
I’m a bit late, but Merry Christmas and Happy new year. (he says, almost in February)
Now…
You want to know what piece of software I suddenly feel nostalgic for?
No?
What do I care.
The Office shortcut bar.

It should be considered false advertisement
So, I needed a new mouse since the scroll wheel died on my 6€ made in China, 50% off special (so it was 3€); to be honest the wheel died long ago, it’s just that I’m in the mood to play with 3D modelling again and having no scroll wheel is shitty.
Anyway…

Some bugs squashed
Since today I had an unusual amount of patience to play with, I decided to fix some quirks the site had (mostly related to the theme)
1- in the left menu it would be hard to sometimes click because the font changed to something slightly smaller on hover. It was changing to italic and bold (which doesn’t quite work), removed italic and kept bold.
2- on the archives the more tag was getting parsed by my smilie plugin due to the “…” and a “)”. Removed that smilie as I didn’t use it.
3- talking about smilies, today (I rarely read stuff months after I write it) I noticed they were being strangely resized to extra tiny (16px x 16px) and I had no inkling of an idea why, turns out it was due to wordpress’ emoji support code that was resizing all emojis and smilies to 1em.
4- some broken links fixed. There might be still some around, I’ll fix them if/when I find them.
The old, the older and the new
This is just a little rant about text editors/word processors.
Which is kinda strange as most of my writing/note taking is done with pen and paper, but as of late I’ve been doing pen and paper in parallel with digital. (took me long enough; honestly I simply dislike the idea, that’s why I haven’t adopted it for the last 17 years)
But much like with stationery, I have a bit of a thing for text editors and word processors.
So, let’s start this useless rant.
