Yomigaeru Sora -Rescue Wings-
Just finished watching this anime.
Got to it after re-watching “Tokyo Magnitude 8.0”, while writing my rant about it.
Went to one of the anime listing websites looking for the name of one of the side characters in TM8.0 and noticed Yomigaeru Sora on the recommended list.
So I read the synopsis.
Sounded good.
It had helicopters, helicopters are good.
No sign of unexpected “magical girls”. Very good.
“Well, it’s only 12 episodes…” (13 with the OVA)
So…I’ve watched it slowly.
Just remembered…
Almost 3 years ago, I promised (threatened perhaps?) something
No, the threat was not “Merry Christmas”, it was the other stuff I talk about in the post.
At the time I was planning on reviewing some stuff.
Honestly, can’t even recall what all the things were.
One of them was a cheap fountain pen, but then I decided that my handwriting was too ugly to show.
So, recently I grabbed another bunch of crap off ebay and assorted chinese websites and felt like it would be nice to fulfill my old promise (or threat, whichever fits better).
Better late than never.
I’ll probably start with reviewing a couple of flashlights. (one of them probably from the 2014 batch of stuff that originated the whole idea of posting some reviews)
Well, let’s see if I finish these posts faster than the ones I have had on the drafts for the last 3 months.

I won’t repeat that I have a bunch of posts to finish and a few more planned that I have yet to start. You guys might start thinking that I’m lying about it. (I’m not, I have a bunch of posts to finish)

It’s the little details
…that always get you.
So, since I changed to a non-free webhost I’ve been doing a little housekeeping on the site (for example, moving WEBMs hosted elsewhere to the server).
Unplanned change
So, there has been a slight unplanned change.
A good change (that’s nice, so unusual), well, good for me not you.
For you the reader it’s pretty much invisible, for me it’s…kinda fun at the very least.
“Move on…what is the change.”
I’ve moved the site to a non-free webhost.
For the first time in a few years. (since at least 2014)
Why is it fun? Well for one less technical constraints.
Only time will tell if that changes anything on the site or not.
I still have some posts to finish writing…and I think I lost the paper sheets where I jotted down the main points I wanted to focus on for at least two of the posts.
But they are coming…slowly.

Another thing on my recent urge to write.
I previously posted about a rare urge to write that I had. This post is a short continuation.
Another thing I did during that urge was, while re-reading old (2010-2011) project ideas, come up with a solution for one of them.
It was a survival horror game (what else could it be?) and I was stuck on what the nature of the danger was, monsters (as 99.9% of survival horrors)? demons? people? aliens? the mummy? nosferatu? a dog in a tutu? (I guess all of those could be classified as monsters one way or another, but that’s besides the point)

Sudden urge to write
So a few days ago I had a sudden urge to write (and a decent creative mood). Rare thing.
Typed some 9001 words (oh look, another overused Dragon Ball Z joke) on the computer and wrote 6 A5 pages by hand (that unfortunately don’t have an easy way to do word count) in 2 days, which for me is a shitload of writing.
Strangely, none were for the five posts that I still have in my wordpress drafts that have sat there for over a month.

Ranty Rant: The Long Dark – Part Deux
So, in the long long ago I wrote a ranty rant on The Long Dark.
Seeing that the game has been recently finished (kind of). I feel like I should write an updated ranty rant.
Hell, I’ll make it two for the price of one.
I will write an updated “Survival mode” rant (many things changed in the game since early 2015) and one on the story mode (my first experience with it).
This is about the story mode.

So, finally story mode is out. Well, it’s been out for a while, but I haven’t really kept up with the releases.
Of course, I had to go play for a bit.
And the following are my thoughts and random points. (mostly mean spirited criticism)

Been replaying some old-ish games (am I not always doing that?)
Right now I’m replaying Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney, I love this game, the mix of serious and silly is great.

Deadly anomalies, dangerous mutants, anarchists and bandits…
So, some 3 years ago, I posted that I was playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and said I was going to play Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat next.
This was 3 years ago.
Still haven’t played them.
I mean, I started playing CS but got bored.
And of course along the way I found the mod Call of Chernobyl where I can just go and be a Loner on a map with all the locations of the game.
