This is just a really quick, simple rant.
State of Decay is probably my favourite zombie video game.
But there is one thing that annoys me in the game, one of those pet peeves you know.
The backpacks.
(yes, this is a very nitpicking rant, I’m only writing because I’m bored.)
All the backpacks are extremely tiny, I always joke that they must have raided the nearest kindergarten.
Because this:
Is a 25L backpack, which isn’t big at all, notice the length, bulk and how high (or low) on the back it sits.
This is the “large backpack” in State of Decay:
Notice the top of the backpack is lower on the back while the bottom is about the same as the 25L example. It’s also thinner.
So that pretty much means that thing is 20L or less.
Sure, it’s logical that the zombie apocalypse day to day activities are going to be physically demanding, both in strength and stamina, hence you would need a small backpack to go around town scouting and scavenging, considering all the running, jumping and climbing.
But that also means you can’t really pack 2 shotguns, a full size crowbar and ammo inside it.
And don’t get me started on the tiny “small backpack” which wouldn’t hold a first aid kit. That thing is smaller than the backpacks I used for school as a kid.
No…my big peeve with this one is “Large” backpack. The only “Large” pack in the entire game is the duffel bag. They shouldn’t have implied that a <20L pack was large in any way. Because…because…because it rustles my jimmies, that’s why.
That is about my limit for nitpicking.
