Artificial Academy 2
Nah, just joking, happened to see this somewhere and thought: “That’s ideal to make a completely misleading post.”
Although I’ll admit I played with the Artificial Academy 2 Char Editor ‘Trial version’ (if that is what it is called, dunno) I was curious about what could be done with it, but I’ve also seen some gameplay of the game, despite not having first hand experience.
And honestly, given the customisation possibilities and all that (you can make some quite lovely heroines), if these games (3D erotic games) actually had a story and at least a bit more dialogue, they could be quite nice.
Let’s look at it just from the customisation perspective, instead of having Boring_generic_male-kun going after young_female_stereotype1-chan, young_female_stereotype2-chan and a route with older_female_stereotype3-san, you could actually have “You” going after “Your college crush”, “Your girlfriend” and a route with “That teacher that you would’ve banged”, all of this following a typical eroge story. (that can range from awesome to just an excuse to get the protagonist laid, but lets pretend they are all actually at least average)
Although then I end up thinking that I don’t know any 3D eroge that actually has a semi-decent story, then admittedly I don’t know many 3D eroges, on that field I’m a 2D lover as I play them for the story (running an hentai website gave me an overload of it pretty quickly and I ran the damn thing for six years) and 2D is easier on the eyes.
One thing that piqued my curiosity was the size of the game (file wise) ~9GB for a game that doesn’t have much more gameplay that your average VN. Heck, that’s more than The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim.
Does it REALLY need to take up all that space? I wonder…
As for my curiosity of why these things don’t have more dialogue and story, maybe it could be argued that such thing would be quite heavy on the budget and eroges have a really tiny tiny market (worldwide, in Japan it would probably be medium-small-ish I would guess).
Well, I guess I’ll be happy with that explanation.
That’s all, not bad for a rant that was supposed to be just the image and a “I’m joking.”.
