Last post I mentioned a motherboard that died an interesting death, it wasn’t that interesting, just kinda funny.
But first the Radeon 9200 did not start working just by changing the capacitor. I had it on a box for over a year, so I didn’t quite remember the problem it had, it was the good old garbled output that normally means something on the ram/gpu went apeshit. Pity.
The story on the motherboard goes like this (bullet point list edition):
- Watching some asian (either Japanese or South Korean, don’t remember) horror film using the 2nd PC.
- Suddenly a high pitched noise enters my brain, one of those high pitch noises that are high pitched enough to take quite a few seconds to get the direction.
- As I finally get it’s coming from the 2nd pc, I approach it and…
- As I’m pressing the power button to turn it off, it turns off by itself.
Aaaannnnddddd….it’s dead. (read that with the voice of the South Park bank guy)
